Basketball Recap: Littleton Lions vs. Standley Lake Gators

Littleton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 68-39 loss at the hands of the Standley Lake Gators. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-18.

Littleton's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Griffin, who went 5-for-11 en route to 14 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Lasswell, who posted ten points and five assists.

Derrek Sims continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Standley Lake, going 8-for-12 on his way to 17 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. That's the most assists Sims has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Titus Schrecengost, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 11 points in addition to five assists and five steals.

Littleton's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Standley Lake, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Littleton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-31 defeat against Evergreen on the 13th. As for Standley Lake, they have also already played their next contest, a 63-19 victory against D'Evelyn on the 13th.
