Basketball Game Preview: McLaurin Tigers vs. Coahoma County Red Panthers

The McLaurin Tigers will face off against the Coahoma County Red Panthers at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as McLaurin comes in on nine and Coahoma County on 15.

McLaurin is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They strolled past St. Stanislaus with points to spare, taking the game 73-55.

Michael Wallace was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 23 points and 12 assists. That's the most assists he has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tylon Williams, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Coahoma County had just enough and edged out Edwards 31-28 on Thursday. The 31-point effort marked the Red Panthers' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Coahoma County's victory bumped their record up to 29-4. As for McLaurin, their win bumped their record up to 27-5.
