Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Zoe Engrav and Olivia Butler Lead Severance to Victory

Severance not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 4th (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against the Liberty Common Eagles as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Silver Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-14, 29-27.

Leading Severance to victory were Olivia Butler and Zoe Engrav. Butler had seven digs and five aces, while Engrav had five aces and four digs. Those five aces gave Engrav a new career-high. Dalaynie Loftin also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Severance was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Severance is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. As for Liberty Common, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Severance will welcome Greeley Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Liberty Common, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brush at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
