Basketball Recap: Belle Fourche Falls to Spearfish in First Game of Season

Belle Fourche unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the Spearfish Spartans 64-28 on Friday. The Broncs haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Spearfish's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Haroon Khan, who posted 12 points. The dominant performance gave Khan a new career-high in points. Bennett Kortan was another key player, putting up seven points.

Belle Fourche is taking a road trip to challenge Sundance at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Spearfish, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Aberdeen Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
