Volleyball Game Preview: Sidney Red Raiders vs. Gering Bulldogs

The Sidney Red Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Gering Bulldogs on Tuesday. Sidney has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with five straight losses, while Gering will come in with three straight wins.

On Saturday, Sidney came up short against Holdrege and fell 2-0.

Meanwhile, Gering got the win against Gordon-Rushville on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Gering took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-15, 25-8.

Gering found their leader in freshman Adriana Canales, who had 11 digs and three aces. Finley Rotherham also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Gering was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September.

Gering's victory bumped their record up to 25-7. As for Sidney, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-17.

Sidney couldn't quite get it done against Gering in their previous meeting last Saturday as they fell 2-0. Can the Red Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
