Baseball Recap: Sullivan Has No Trouble Against Cerro Gordo/Bement

Sullivan had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Cerro Gordo/Bement on Thursday. The Redskins were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over the Broncos. The Redskins have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Broncos, too.

Marshall Robison made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs.

Robison wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Crowe, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most hits Crowe has posted since back in March. Kolton Wiley was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Sullivan is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Cerro Gordo/Bement, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
