Baseball Recap: Hilliard Comes Up Short

Hilliard lost against Yulee back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Red Flashes fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 3-1. That's two games in a row now that the Red Flashes have lost by exactly two runs.

Hilliard's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Yulee, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-10.

Hilliard and Yulee could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Red Flashes will challenge Baldwin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (447 vs. 204). Meanwhile, Yulee (ranked 424th) will meet Glynn Academy (ranked 70th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
