Basketball Recap: Norfolk Academy Gets the Win

While Norfolk Academy has struggled on the road with three straight losses, that wasn't the case on Tuesday thanks to Maria Delyannis. The Norfolk Academy Bulldogs simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Peninsula Catholic Knights 55-7 thanks in part to Delyannis, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 20 times she's played.

Eliza Everett was another key player, putting up four points in addition to six boards and five steals. Those five steals gave her a new career-high.

Norfolk Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Peninsula Catholic, they are on a 27-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Norfolk Academy has already played their next match (against Cox), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Peninsula Catholic has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Catholic.
