It was a good run, but Fyffe unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Guntersville Wildcats, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Red Devils have suffered since October 16, 2024.

While Fyffe was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Guntersville's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-15, 25-16.

Guntersville was led to victory by Caroline Canady and Josselyn Lett. Canady had six digs and four assists, while Lett had five digs and two aces. That's the most assists Canady has posted over her last nine matches. Ella Tate Campbell also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

Fyffe's loss dropped their record down to 21-6. As for Guntersville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 40-4 record this season.

Fyffe will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pleasant Valley at 4:30 p.m. on October 7. As for Guntersville, they will take on Albertville at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
