Basketball Game Preview: Carroll Chargers vs. Fort Wayne South Side Archers

The Carroll Chargers will face off against the Fort Wayne South Side Archers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Carroll is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Carroll beat Fort Wayne Bishop Luers 63-57. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Knights are ranked 145th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Carroll's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jersey Paul, who posted 18 points and three steals. Paul has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Cala Haffner, who went 8 for 19 en route to 18 points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, Fort Wayne South Side was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a hard 54-38 fall against Marion.

The victory got Carroll back to even at 9-9. As for Fort Wayne South Side, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.

Everything came up roses for Carroll against Fort Wayne South Side in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 75-34 win. Will Carroll repeat their success, or does Fort Wayne South Side have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
