Basketball Recap: Burgin Comes Up Short

Burgin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Mercer County Titans, falling 86-53. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Titans are ranked 71st).

Burgin's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Mercer County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Burgin has already played their next matchup (against Cornerstone Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Mercer County, they have already played their next game, a 63-39 victory against Rockcastle County on the 7th.
