Cooper piles up the points against Shelbyville

Recap: Cooper Bulldogs vs. Shelbyville Dragons

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Cooper Bulldogs walked away with it. They breezed by the Dragons at home to the tune of 69-28. Winning may never get old, but Cooper sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.

Canon Ingram continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 153 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, and also throwing for 93 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Adryean Mapps, who gained 154 total yards and two touchdowns.

When it comes to explaining why Shelbyville lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Dylan Parker. Despite the final result, he picked up 125 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Cooper's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.2 points per game. As for Shelbyville, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Cooper will head out on the road to face off against Garrison at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Garrison: 11.6, Cooper: 14.8) so any points scored will be well earned. Shelbyville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
