Basketball Recap: Mcallen Snags Fifth Victory in Last Six Games

If Rowe wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played McAllen, they should've done a better job of containing Judah Rios. The McAllen Bulldogs walked away with a 58-50 win over the Rowe Warriors on Tuesday thanks in part to Rios, who went 7 of 10 en route to 21 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

McAllen is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Rowe, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-8.

McAllen and Rowe should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. McAllen will square off against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday up 1,196 places (366 vs. 1562). McAllen is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57 points per game this season. Similarly, Rowe (ranked 320th) will meet Sharyland (ranked 1060th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
