Volleyball Recap: Barr-Reeve Beats Loogootee for Their Eighth Straight Win

Barr-Reeve had already won seven in a row and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. Everything went their way against the Loogootee Lions as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Barr-Reeve was: they took every set by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-9, 25-5.

Barr-Reeve's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joslyn (JJ) Knepp led the charge by getting seven kills, seven digs, and three blocks. What's more, Knepp posted five assists, the most she's had over her last three contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Lora Graber, who had seven digs and five aces.

Barr-Reeve was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Barr-Reeve's win bumped their record up to 21-4. As for Loogootee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barr-Reeve will welcome Wood Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Loogootee, they will face off against Springs Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
