Whites Creek gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They put the hurt on the Pearl-Cohn Firebirds with a sharp 13-6 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cobras in their matchups with the Firebirds: they've now won three in a row.

Bobby Scales and Ty'Rique Keesee did most of the damage at the plate: Scales scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2, while Keesee went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave Keesee a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Scales, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Whites Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .769. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pearl-Cohn only posted an OBP of .455.

Pearl-Cohn's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whites Creek will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Houston County at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pearl-Cohn, they will square off against Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.75 runs per game on average), something Pearl-Cohn will no doubt try to take advantage of.
