Volleyball Recap: Amboy Finds Home Court Redemption Against Hiawatha

There's no place like home for Amboy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against the Hiawatha Hawks by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The Clippers were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Hawks, so the Clippers were just returning the favor.

Amboy never let Hiawatha on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-19.

Kiera Karlson paced Amboy's offense, picking up five kills. Karlson got some help from Jadyn Whelchel and her 14 assists. Whelchel also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Brittlyn Whitman, each putting up three.

Amboy's win bumped their record up to 7-17-4. As for Hiawatha, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-21.

Coincidentally, Amboy and Hiawatha will both be playing Polo the next time they take the court. The Clippers will head out to face the Marcos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Hawks will head out to face them at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
