Basketball Recap: Mississippi School for the Deaf's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Mississippi School for the Deaf had to endure an 18-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-38 win over the Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf Fighting Hornet on Friday. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 315th in Mississippi, while the Fighting Hornet are ranked 638th in North Carolina), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mississippi School for the Deaf to victory, but perhaps none more so than Learvious Hill, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Thomas, who had 12 points.

Mississippi School for the Deaf's victory bumped their record up to 3-19. As for Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Mississippi School for the Deaf does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf, they will challenge Virginia School for the Deaf & Blind at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
