Volleyball Recap: Marshall Rams vs. MacArthur Brahmas

Marshall lost against MacArthur back in August of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rams fell just short of the Brahmas by a score of 2-1.

Marieme Fall paced Marshall's offense, picking up 11 kills. Fall got some help from Arianna Wright and her 14 assists. Wright was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead MacArthur to victory, but perhaps none more so than Abigail Wells, who had ten kills, five digs, two aces, and one block. That's the most kills Wells has posted over her last six contests. Ella McCoy was another key player, getting six kills, four digs, and two aces.

Marshall has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for MacArthur, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Marshall wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Floresville on the 28th. As for MacArthur, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Lockhart on the 28th.
