Soccer Recap: Geneva Comes Up Short

After flying high against Aurora Central Catholic last Tuesday, Geneva came back down to earth. Geneva came up short against the Metea Valley Mustangs on Thursday, falling 3-0. If Geneva were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to Metea Valley when the teams met back in May of 2015, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Geneva now has a losing record of 1-2-1. As for Metea Valley, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Geneva will face off against Larkin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Geneva will be up against Larkin's rather soft defense (which has allowed 5.67 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Metea Valley, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Waubonsie Valley at 6:30 p.m. on April 8. This will be Metea Valley's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
