Basketball Recap: Person Takes a Loss

Person played a tough contest on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Western Alamance Warriors and fell 66-26. The Rockets have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Western Alamance's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emma Johnson led the charge by putting up 24 points in addition to six boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Sykes, who went 5-for-10 on her way to 15 points and seven assists.

Person's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13-1. As for Western Alamance, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Coming up, Person will challenge Williams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Williams is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.3 points per game this season. As for Western Alamance, they will square off against Southern Alamance at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Southern Alamance: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home, while Western Alamance has snatched up nine consecutive wins on the road.
