Soccer Game Preview: Anderson vs. Georgetown

The Anderson Trojans will square off against the Georgetown Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Anderson will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

While Anderson's victory against Dripping Springs wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Anderson sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Dripping Springs on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Georgetown kept a clean sheet against Pflugerville last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Anderson pushed their record up to 19-2-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 54 goals over those nine matches. As for Georgetown, their win bumped their record up to 16-2-3.

Anderson came up short against Georgetown in their previous matchup back in March of 2021, falling 2-0. Can Anderson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
