After a string of four wins, Mica Mountain's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Walden Grove Red Wolves by a score of 3-1. The Thunderbolts were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Red Wolves earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

Lily Oswalt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Mica Mountain saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bibiana Tanori, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Mica Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Walden Grove, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Mica Mountain will square off against Sabino at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Thunderbolts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Sabercats have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Walden Grove, they have already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against Nogales on the 11th.
