Basketball Recap: Anniston's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

It was a good run, but Anniston unfortunately witnessed the end of their 13-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 60-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alexandria Valley Cubs. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Valley Cubs earlier this season, when they won 47-43.

Anniston's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-4. As for Alexandria, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 20-3.

Anniston is taking a road trip to take on Piedmont at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Anniston knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Piedmont likes a good challenge. As for Alexandria, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 66-32 defeat against Oxford on the 28th.
