Softball Recap: Tonopah Extends Winning Streak to Three

Tonopah waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Sandy Valley Sidewinders with a sharp 22-5 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Muckers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Alyssa Maurer was a standout: she scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game. Another player making a difference was Gabrielle Strozzi, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Tonopah now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Sandy Valley, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Tonopah will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Sidewinders: the pair will be back at it again later today.
