Volleyball Recap: Perrysburg Yellow Jackets vs. Steele Comets
Perrysburg took care of business in their home opener on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Steele Comets. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Yellow Jackets also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.
Perrysburg had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-16, 25-15, 25-20.

Ali Cherry was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 17 digs and two assists. Those 17 digs gave her a new career-high.
Steele's loss came despite strong showings from Dani Dury and Callie Beckler. Dury had 16 digs and two aces, while Beckler had 19 assists and four digs. Dury is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last eight games she's played dating back to last season.
Perrysburg and Steele will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Yellow Jackets are set to challenge their familiar foe Bowling Green at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Steele will take on rival Berea-Midpark at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
