Basketball Recap: Port Clinton Victorious

Port Clinton won the last time they faced Oberlin and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Port Clinton Redskins escaped with a win against the Oberlin Phoenix by the margin of a single free throw, 53-52. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Redskins.

When it comes to explaining why Oberlin lost, don't look at Julian Anderson. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-10 on his way to 19 points and three steals. Anderson continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Carmello Williams was another key player, putting up ten points.

Port Clinton's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Oberlin, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-12.

Coming up, Port Clinton will face off against Edison at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Oberlin, they will square off against Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oberlin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.4 points per game this season.
