Baseball Game Preview: Marion Eagles vs. Forest Area Warriors

The Marion Eagles will face off against the Forest Area Warriors on Friday. Marion's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Forest Area's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Marion lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Montabella, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Mustangs on Tuesday. Considering the Eagles have won six matches by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Forest Area beat Pellston 6-2 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Marion has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Forest Area, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.

Everything went Marion's way against Forest Area in their previous matchup back in April of 2016, as Marion made off with a 19-3 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
