Basketball Recap: Cambria Heights' Win Ends Eight-Game Losing Streak at Home

There's no place like home for Cambria Heights, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 49-42 victory over the Conemaugh Township Indians on Thursday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Highlanders' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 505th, while the Indians are ranked 150th).

Cambria Heights' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cameron Abrams, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds Abrams has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Stephen Nelen, who posted ten points.

Conemaugh Township lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brennan Lohr, who had 12 points. Stephen Stango was another key player, putting up 11 points along with six boards and three steals.

Cambria Heights' victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-10. As for Conemaugh Township, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-4.

Cambria Heights has already played their next match, a 60-37 defeat against Portage on the 17th. As for Conemaugh Township, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 51-39 win against United on the 20th.
