Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only South Central walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Dixon Bulldogs 3-1. Winning may never get old, but the Falcons sure are getting used to it with their 11th in a row.
Hailey Mickey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Blaire Adee, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March. Kamdyn Haislip was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
South Central's win bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Dixon, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-14 record.
South Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against South Brunswick on the 13th. Dixon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
