Basketball Game Preview: Spencerville Bearcats vs. Bluffton Pirates

The Spencerville Bearcats will challenge the Bluffton Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Spencerville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Ohio's top teams: St. John's, who was ranked 14th at the time (Spencerville was ranked 12th). Spencerville managed a 65-61 victory over St. John's on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Bluffton made easy work of Pandora-Gilboa on Saturday and carried off a 70-44 win. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Spencerville's victory bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Bluffton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-4.

Spencerville came out on top in a nail-biter against Bluffton in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, sneaking past 76-74. Will Spencerville repeat their success, or does Bluffton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
