Football Game Preview: Oglesby Tigers vs. Blanket Tigers

Oglesby has won ten straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Blanket has won ten straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. Oglesby will face off against Blanket at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

On Thursday, everything came up roses for Oglesby against Evant as the squad secured a 59-8 victory. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Elks are ranked 187th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Oglesby, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Camden Webb, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Oglesby's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged three passes before it was all said and done. Evan Williamson was the real danger to the passing game, picking up two interceptions all by himself. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Blanket humbled Sidney with a 52-8 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by 44 points or more this season.

Oglesby's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Blanket, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

Everything came up roses for Oglesby against Blanket in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 46-0 win. Does Oglesby have another victory up their sleeve, or will Blanket turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
