Basketball Recap: Elk Grove Takes a Loss

Elk Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were dealt a 66-31 loss at the hands of the Prospect Knights. While losing is never fun, the Grenadiers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 569th, while the Knights are ranked 219th).

Elk Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Prospect, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season.

Elk Grove didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-55 loss against Sandburg on the 20th. Prospect has also already played their next contest, a 32-27 defeat against Lake Park on the 20th.
