It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Point Loma had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the St. Francis Golden Knights and snuck past 3-2. The win was familiar territory for Point Loma who now have six in a row.
Marviel Underwood tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Eli Montgomery was excellent, going 2-for-2 with two runs and a triple.
Point Loma's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-8-4. As for St. Francis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-15.
Point Loma will square off against Bakersfield Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bakersfield Christian will roll in looking for their 19th straight win, something Point Loma surely won't give up without a fight. St. Francis does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
