Basketball Recap: Crested Butte Skates Past Hayden with Ease

Crested Butte posted their biggest victory since December 13, 2024 on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Hayden Tigers 67-26.

Leading Crested Butte to victory were Adin Kurak and Eli Hulm. Kurak went 9-for-19 on his way to 25 points in addition to seven assists and six rebounds, while Hulm went 8-for-15 to rack up 22 points along with five boards and three steals. The game was Kurak's fifth in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyus Fischer, who posted four points and four steals.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Crested Butte was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Crested Butte now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Hayden, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-15.

Crested Butte wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 64-58 loss against Lake County on the 18th. As for Hayden, they will take on Caprock Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hayden is facing Caprock Academy at the right time seeing as Caprock Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
