Softball Recap: Brooks Lions vs. Male Bulldogs
It was a good run, but Brooks unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Saturday. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 8-0 walloping at the hands of the Male Bulldogs. Brooks was red-hot at the plate headed into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the three games prior) but Male's pitchers proved too tough.
Brooks got a good showing from Hatton Behel, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On Male's side, the team relied heavily on Joseslyn Woosley, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Reed, who went 2-for-3 with a home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Brooks' loss dropped their record down to 24-6-1. As for Male, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
Brooks will head out on the road to take on Lauderdale County at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Brooks is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Male, they will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Huntsville at 3:30 p.m. Huntsville is coming into the matchup with 12 straight victories at home, so Male will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
