Basketball Game Preview: Maple Mountain Golden Eagles vs. Orem Tigers

The Maple Mountain Golden Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Orem Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Maple Mountain got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They came out on top against Salem Hills by a score of 58-51 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Orem faced Timpview in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Orem walked away with a 63-55 victory over Timpview. The win was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Orem's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Maple Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.

Maple Mountain came up short against Orem in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 75-63. Can Maple Mountain avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
