Softball Recap: Wolcott RVT Wins Going Away Against Vinal RVT

Wolcott RVT won the last time they faced Vinal RVT and things went their way on Monday too. The Wildcats blew past the Hawks 19-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Emma Archer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). Archer was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with six RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Wolcott RVT got a massive performance out of Ava Schaer, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one double. Meghan McKearney was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Wolcott RVT kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matchups.

The victory got Wolcott RVT back to even at 2-2. As for Vinal RVT, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-3.

Wolcott RVT wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 21-9 loss against Abbott RVT on the 15th. As for Vinal RVT, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 24-22 win against Wright Tech on the 15th.
