If Jacobs was feeling good fresh off their 7-0 takedown of Murphysboro on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Golden Eagles took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cathedral Fighting Irish on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Andrew Robertsen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Andrew Deegan, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Jacobs' defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Cathedral, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Jacobs will head out on the road to challenge Elk Grove at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Cathedral, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
