Basketball Recap: Whale Branch Finds Home Court Redemption Against Bridges Prep

There's no place like home for Whale Branch, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They blew past the Bridges Prep Buccaneers 47-24 on Tuesday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Buccaneers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Whale Branch found their leader in sophomore Harmony Prejean, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 boards set a new season-high mark for Prejean. Larmore Pryor was another key player, putting up nine points along with eight rebounds and six assists.

Whale Branch was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Several Buccaneers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Makayla Lapp, who posted eight points. The dominant performance also gave Lapp a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Addie Taylor, who earned three points and 16 boards.

Whale Branch's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Bridges Prep, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Whale Branch wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 39-17 win against Edisto on the 31st. As for Bridges Prep, they have also already played their next contest, a 64-26 loss against Cross on the 29th.
