Joliet Central had to endure a 22-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Rich Township Raptors on Friday. The Steelmen have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Raptors, too.

The team relied heavily on Ryan Cooling, who went 2-for-3 with two triples and one run. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Andrew Nixon was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Joliet Central's win bumped their record up to 5-25. As for Rich Township, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Joliet Central will head out to take on Plainfield South at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Rich Township, they will venture away from home to face off against De La Salle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
