The Hillcrest Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Century Diamondbacks at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Hillcrest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.8 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Hillcrest was able to grind out a solid victory over Bonneville, taking the game 13-9.
Hillcrest let Mya Weatherly and Savannah Johnson run wild. Weatherly got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base, while Johnson went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Weatherly has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Raine Jarvis, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hillcrest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 8-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Century was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 22-3 to Skyline.
Averie Brown made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those RBI were her first of the season.
Hillcrest's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Century, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
Century's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hillcrest hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .403. It's a different story for Century, though, as they've only averaged .216. Will they be able to contain Hillcrest's hitters?
Hillcrest got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Century by a conclusive 13-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
