Baseball Recap: Jonesport-Beals Comes Up Short

Jonesport-Beals had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 0-9 to make it seven. They lost 12-0 to the Narraguagus Knights. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Royals' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Narraguagus, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2. The win continues a trend for them in their matchups with Jonesport-Beals: they've now won nine in a row.

For Narraguagus' part, the team relied heavily on Ryder Fenton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Fenton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was McKade Robertson, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Coming up, Jonesport-Beals will face off against Machias at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Narraguagus, they will square off against Sumner at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
