Basketball Recap: North Marion Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, North Marion couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 45-44 to the Santa Fe Raiders. The Colts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

North Marion's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lamont Sweeting JR, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Jerdarrius Jackson, who scored ten points.

North Marion's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Santa Fe, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-10.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. North Marion will take on Rockledge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Marion is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.5 points per game this season. As for Santa Fe, they will square off against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Liberty also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 69.4 points per game.
