Softball Recap: Hand Comes Up Short

Hand was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 7-2 to the Guilford Grizzlies. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Grizzlies when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Danielle Phelan was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. She also scored a run, marking her first of the season.

Hand's record now sits at 0-5. As for Guilford, their record is now 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hand will welcome Wilbur Cross at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Guilford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Amity Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Grizzlies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
