Basketball Recap: West Cabarrus Takes a Loss

West Cabarrus lost against Cox Mill back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The West Cabarrus Wolverines took a 73-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cox Mill Chargers.

Cox Mill found their leader in freshman Sherod McCmormick, who went 6 for 12 en route to 23 points and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McCmormick has scored all season. Another player making a difference was James Carswell, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 14 points.

West Cabarrus has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Cox Mill, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-10.

West Cabarrus will be playing at home against Hickory Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cox Mill, they are taking a road trip to face off against A.L. Brown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cox Mill is facing A.L. Brown at the right time seeing as A.L. Brown is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
