            Baseball Recap: Smithsburg Leopards vs. Clear Spring Blazers        
        
		
        
        
            After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Brunswick, Smithsburg was happy to have turned things around  on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Clear Spring Blazers with a sharp  12-2 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Leopards considering their one-run performance the  matchup before.

 Eli Bowman was a standout: he got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with four  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  RBI. Those  three  runs gave  him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  George Mantz, who  went a perfect 1-for-1 with four  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 Smithsburg  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .586. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
The  win snapped Smithsburg's losing streak at three games  and leaves them with a 9-7 record. As for Clear Spring,  the  loss snapped their winning streak at ten games  and leaves them with a 13-3 record.
 Looking ahead, Smithsburg is taking a road trip to  face off against North Hagerstown  at 4:45  p.m.  on Friday. As for Clear Spring, they will face off against Hancock at 4:45  p.m.  on Thursday. The Blazers are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on  a  six-game losing streak.
