The Monsignor Pace Spartans will head out to take on the Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) Stallions at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Monsignor Pace is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They escaped with a win on Saturday against Piper by the margin of a single free throw, 60-59.

Monsignor Pace's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamaal Gibson, Jr, who posted 12 points along with five boards and three steals. Gibson, Jr is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelo Soto-Lugo, who went 6 of 11 en route to 15 points.

Meanwhile, Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) posted their biggest win since January 31, 2024 last Thursday. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 76-49 stomp they got against Mater Biscayne Academy. Winning may never get old, but the Stallions sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Monsignor Pace, their victory bumped their record up to 2-11.

Monsignor Pace didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 58-52 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Monsignor Pace since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
