Baseball Game Preview: Whitmer Panthers vs. Bowling Green Bobcats

The Whitmer Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Bowling Green Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Whitmer is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Whitmer didn't have quite enough to beat Findlay and fell 6-5. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Whitmer saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mitchell Rose, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Rudy Handy was another, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Bowling Green had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Springfield on Tuesday, sneaking past 7-5. Surprisingly, this marked the sixth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Bowling Green's win bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Whitmer, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.

Whitmer couldn't quite finish off Bowling Green in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 8-6. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
