Baseball Recap: Westside Comes Up Short

Westside made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Wren, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Rams fell just short of the Hurricanes by a score of 7-5 on Thursday. The Rams just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Westside got a good showing from Henry Perry, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those zero earned runs gave Perry a new career-low.

On the hitting side, Westside saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Milford, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The Rams are 3-1 when Milford posts two or more runs, but 6-10 otherwise. Tanner Schmitz was another, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Westside's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Wren, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-5.

Looking ahead, Westside is taking a road trip to square off against Eastside at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wren, they will host Pickens at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
