Hammond Academy of Science & Tech won against Thornridge on Saturday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Sunday. The Hawks didn't even let the Thornton Fractional North Meteors on the board, marking the Hawks' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by eight runs or more this season.

Noah Michniewicz was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Anthony Concepcion and Austin McKimmy did most of the damage at the plate: Concepcion went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while McKimmy went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Hammond Academy of Science & Tech is undefeated when McKimmy posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Camden Foster was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Hammond Academy of Science & Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thornton Fractional North only posted an OBP of .250.

The victory made it two in a row for Hammond Academy of Science & Tech and bumps their season record up to 10-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-14 Thornridge and 4-20 Thornton Fractional North. As for Thornton Fractional North, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-20.

Hammond Academy of Science & Tech wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-1 win against Heritage Christian on the 12th.
